A winter holiday in the mountains of Val Gardena

From the Juac Refuge in the middle of the Dolomites, you can start your winter fun on skis, touring skis, snowshoes or by toboggan.

Skiing

Not only is the multi-faceted Val Gardena/Alpe di Siusi ski area on our doorstep, but you can also ski directly to the world-famous Sellaronda ski circuit. We offer a snowmobile pick-up service from the Col Raiser mountain station towards the Sangon Hut in winter so that you can spend the night at our refuge after a leisurely day of skiing in the Dolomites and enjoy an unforgettable evening with a delicious dinner.

Ski touring

If you’re in good shape and have sufficient stamina, open-terrain ski tours away from the slopes offer plenty of fun. Of course, you’ll need a fair amount of alpine experience and knowledge as well as the right equipment. Speak to a local mountain guide; hut keeper Franz Comploi with many years of experience as a mountain and ski guide, will also be happy to advise you. The magical, snow-covered landscape promises a new mountain adventure every day for the perfect holiday experience.

Snowshoeing/winter hiking

In winter, it’s also possible to explore Val Gardena and the entire Puez-Odle Nature Park with a crunch under your feet or snowshoes. By following the marked paths, you’ll cross idyllic forests into the great outdoors and you may even be lucky enough to find fresh animal tracks in the snow. Breathe in the fresh mountain air, feel the calm and enjoy the relaxing view of the landscape. The sunny winter days await you at the Juac Refuge in Val Gardena.

Tobogganing

Numerous toboggan runs in Val Gardena and on the Alpe di Siusi guarantee pure fun for the whole family. You simply won’t have time to get bored. There’ll be plenty of fun and action as young and old whiz down into the valley on a sled, feeling the cold winter air on their faces.
